Kellyn Acosta was born in Dallas, Texas and is the son of a Japanese father & an African American Mother. He has served as a midfielder for the US Men’s National Team at both the junior and senior levels, most recently earning him a roster spot for the 2022 World Cup. Kellyn is the first Asian American man to appear for the United States in a World Cup. He has played 11 seasons in the MLS and is an MLS Cup winner with LAFC. Kellyn currently is a member of Chicago Fire FC.

Off the field, Kellyn is passionate about using his platform to make a positive impact. Kellyn is an Advocate for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, an Ambassador for the Special Olympics, & an Ambassador of the US Amputee Soccer Team. He launched The Kellyn Acosta Foundation with the goal of making soccer more accessible by creating opportunity & unifying communities through the sport. Kellyn has been nominated and won MLS Works Humanitarian of the Year award.
